Elden Ring Runes Player Pretends to As NPC, and successfully tricks Invader

Sometimes, the most effective strategy to win a fight is to be the largest, toughest badass on the table. However, there are other occasions when you should keep your head down and do nothing. An Elden Ring player did just that, pretending to play the role of an NPC, when their game was attacked by a different player. And eventually, their crazy strategy paid off.

As with previous FromSoftware RPGs, the newly released open-world in Elden Ring allows players to play in the environments of others. Once you have invaded someone else's game you can follow them to the end and eliminate them. Easy enough, but it gets more complicated when somebody decides to dress as an adversary and pretend to be an NPC.

After putting on an armor suit of the NPC their chosen target, they walked to a particular spot in which the character they were cosplaying with walked. After that, xdc_lis was careful to kill the opponent in order to cover the body in a nearby tree. Finally, they opened up their game to invasions through other players. With that, the trap was created.

After an intruder is discovered xdc_lis, it does an amazing job of playing the role an NPC even when the invader gets very, very close. While the invader runs aroundin search of xdc_lis they continue walking back and forth and over. At some point, the other party is tired and leaves.

For tricking the player, xdc_lis is awarded a good amount of runes. It's as Elden Ring Items buy considers someone leaving as an accomplishment. In this situation I'm inclined to believe. Unless there is some explicit rules against tricking or trolling others who try to invade your, I don't think xdc_lis acted in a way that was wrong. Based on my experience with FromSoftware RPGs this is the sort of thing that the developers would advise players to do.
